Alaska LNG confirmed that the schedule for submittal of the final application for the LNG project is expected to be a minimum of 3 months beyond the original scheduled date of September 2016, due to ongoing pre-Front End Engineering and Design (pre-FEED) and engineering optimisation work.

The Alaska LNG Project will include a natural gas liquefaction plant and storage facilities, as well as an export terminal at Nikiski on the Kenai Peninsula. The project will consist of an 800-mile gas pipeline from southcentral Alaska to the North Slope, a gas treatment plant, and transmission lines connecting the project to gas producing fields.

The LNG project is expected to produce and export up to 20 million tpy of LNG.
