LNG Industry,

Marathon Oil Corp. has announced that T. Mitch Little has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Operations, and will oversee both the Resource Play and Conventional businesses. Currently, Little serves as the Vice President, Conventional, and has previously served as Managing Director of Marathon Oil Norge AS and as General Manager, Worldwide Drilling and Completions.

The President and CEO of Marathon Oil, Lee Tillman, said: “Mitch brings proven leadership skills and significant technical experience to the new role of EVP of Operations at Marathon Oil, and has been integral to our on going transformation into a resource play focused E&P.”

In addition to this, the current Vice President of Technology and Innovation, Cathy Krajicek, has accepted the role of Vice President, Conventional. The current Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Bruce McCullough, meanwhile, has accepted the role of Vice President, Technology and Innovation, and continues to serve as the Chief Information Officer. Lance Robertson, Vice President, Resources Plays, however, has decided to exit the company in order to pursue other opportunities.

Furthermore, unrelated to those changes mentioned so far, J.R. Sult, Executive Vice President and CFO, has chosen to leave the company for personal reasons following an appropriate transition period. The company claims that this is not related to any disagreement regarding financial disclosures, accounting, or business matters.

Whilst the company searches for a new CFO, Pat Wagner, Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, has been appointed interim CFO. He joined Marathon Oil in 2014, and has extensive financial and operational experience, including senior roles at QR Energy LP, Scotia Waterous, and Devon Energy Corp.

Tillman added: “Pat brings a solid balance of financial and operating skills to his role as interim CFO and will continue to support our on going focus on financial discipline during this transition.

"I want to sincerely thank J.R. and Lance for their substantial contributions to the Company over the years and wish them both well in their future endeavours."

Marathon Oil claims that all leadership changes are effective immediately.
