LNG Industry,
The first MC Class vessel for BigRoll Shipping, the BigRoll Barentsz, has been successfully delivered by Cosco Dalian Shipyard Co. Ltd to the owner. The ship will now enter into a multi-year contract with Yamgaz – a consortium of Technip, JGC Corp. and Chiyoda – for the module transportation for the Yamal LNG project in Russia.
The vessel, which features a large, unobstructed deck and a high service speed, is capable of operating in temperatures as low as -55°C. This is necessary given that the region that the vessel will operate in is totally ice-bound for between seven and nine months each year.
