Neptune awarded Wheatstone project contract

Neptune Marine Services Ltd has announced that Technip has awarded the company a saturation diving manning services contract for Chevron’s Wheatstone project.

The Wheatstone project is one of Australia’s largest resource projects. It will include an onshore facility located at Ashburton North Strategic Industrial Area (ANSIA), 12 km west of Onslow in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. The foundation project includes two LNG trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tpy and a domestic gas plant. The Wheatstone Project is a joint venture between Australian subsidiaries of Chevron, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC),Woodside Petroleum Ltd, and Kyushu Electric Power Company, as well as PE Wheatstone Pty Ltd, part owned by TEPCO.

The contract awarded to Neptune includes the provision of saturation diving manning services to assist with the project spool installation. Works are due to commence in 3Q15.

Neptune Chief Executive Officer, Robin King, said: “Neptune has already performed a number of scopes of work on the Wheatstone project and our continued involvement in this key project demonstrates the benefits of our integrated range of services.”
